Learn Directing, Producing and Screenwriting from WORKING FILMMAKERS in Los Angeles

YOUR CHANCE TO MAKE IT BIG IN HOLLYWOOD!

Do you dream of making it big in the film industry? Looking to become the next Spielberg, Scorsese or Tarantino? FILM CONNECTION gives you that chance in a way NO OTHER FILM SCHOOL ON THE PLANET can duplicate—through our premier LEARN IN L.A. FILM PROGRAM.

With this revolutionary, fully accredited 6-month intensive training program, you’ll learn producing, directing and screenwriting by studying one-on-one with actual Hollywood film professionals. These highly qualified professionals will guide you through our structured course curriculum while helping you develop your own movie idea (not someone else’s). You’ll spend time learning in REAL film production companies and on REAL movie sets, making REAL industry connections with film professionals who have worked on the movies you know and love.

Best of all, upon graduation from our Learn in L.A. Film Program, you’ll be given the unique opportunity to pitch your developed film idea to THREE Hollywood executives! You’ll also be GUARANTEED an internship in a Los Angeles film production company so you can continue making those vital industry connections long after you graduate. This means that once you finish our revolutionary film school program, you won’t just know how to make a movie—you’ll be an industry insider.

We dare you to name one other film school that can make this kind of claim. Only Film Connection has the ability to provide you a one-on-one apprenticeship that puts you in the heart of the action, teaches you the REAL film industry, and helps you make those vital industry connections you’ll need in order to make it big in Hollywood.

And here’s the best part: we can do ALL THIS for a fraction of the cost of tuition charged by most film schools.

WHY OTHER FILM SCHOOLS DON’T WORK—AND WHY WE CAN DO WHAT THEY CAN’T

It goes without saying that the movie business is one of the most competitive industries on earth, with thousands of aspiring filmmakers trying to break into the business. Some of the most reputable film schools have waiting lists that go on for years! The fact is, there are simply too many people who want to direct and produce movies, and not enough opportunities available for all of them.

Many of these other film schools really can teach you how to make a movie, how to develop a story, how to produce and direct. But there are two things the other schools CAN’T give you:

  1. They can’t give you CONNECTIONS.
  2. They can’t give you REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE.

Why is this? Because most film schools operate in an environment that is completely detached from the film industry itself. Even if the school has a few connections, it certainly doesn’t have enough connections for ALL of the students it takes in. What’s more, try as they might, traditional film schools cannot duplicate the real-world stress and unpredictability of actual film sets and productions. Thus, students at these schools typically graduate with tons of debt, no industry connections, no viable job prospects and no measurable experience.

Time for some tough questions: What good is it to know how to make a movie if no one in the industry knows who you are, or what you can do? And how do you prove yourself in the real film industry when you have no real-world experience to back up your knowledge? What will you do when you discover that the college degree you spent tens of thousands of dollars to earn means absolutely NOTHING to the pros in the film industry?

The two things that matter most in the film business are CONNECTIONS and EXPERIENCE—the two very things that traditional film schools can’t give you! That’s why the vast majority of traditional film school graduates do not get hired. They accumulate tens of thousands of dollars in debt to get a film degree that is essentially useless to them, because when they graduate, they have no real industry connections, and no work experience.

That’s where Film Connection’s Learn in L.A. Film Program is different.

Our entire educational approach is based on the two key things that the other film schools can’t give you: CONNECTIONS and EXPERIENCE. By training you to become a producer, director or screenwriter in a real Hollywood film production company under the one-on-one instruction of real film industry professionals, we give you hands-on experience while giving you the chance to make those connections, so the film industry can know who you are and actually SEE what you’re capable of as a director or producer.

The film industry is highly competitive, and there are no guarantees of success. But by getting you on the inside track from day one, Film Connection increases your chances of success in ways other film schools couldn’t possibly duplicate.

How it Works

Rather than simply show you the ropes and technical aspects of moviemaking, the Learn in L.A. Program is geared toward helping you achieve your dream of becoming a Hollywood director or producer.

The Learn in L.A. program is unique because we use a structured course curriculum to guide you through all the steps of developing your own film idea from start to finish. We do this because if you’re going to become a successful producer/director, you need to show that you can produce/direct your OWN ideas, not just work on someone else’s project. Here’s just a bit of what our curriculum will teach you:

  • Writing the screenplay
  • Budgeting
  • Casting
  • Selecting and working with the crew
  • Lighting
  • Shooting a scene/working with actors
  • How to pitch your movie

…and so much more!

All instruction occurs one-on-one with real filmmaking professionals over a 6-month period, with the express intent of helping you apply all these concepts toward making your own film. At the end of the six months, we set you up to pitch your film to three different Hollywood executives, in the hope that your movie will be picked up.

Again, we ask: do you know of ANY other film school in the world besides Film Connection that can give you this kind of opportunity?

APPRENTICESHIP VS. INTERNSHIP…THE BIG DIFFERENCE

We get asked a lot: is this just a fancy, dressed-up version of an internship?

No. This is NOT an internship. This is an apprenticeship. There is a big difference.

Interns get to work inside the film production company or on the set, but they are basically errand-runners. They work for little or no pay for the privilege of being around the film set, hopefully learning here and there as they go. Apprentices, on the other hand, are there to be taught, trained and mentored in the filmmaking arts. They get one-on-one attention and instruction from the professionals because they are being groomed for a career in the industry. While internship is a necessary step in the process (and while you will have the opportunity to fulfill your internship requirements and “pay your dues”) as a Film Connection student, you are an apprentice, not an intern.

Are you Accredited

Yes, we are! We are fully accredited by the United States Bureau of Accredited Schools (USBAS) and the National Private School Accreditation Alliance (NPSAA). Additionally, we are also members of these prestigious nonprofit advocacy groups.

A LONG TRACK RECORD OF SUCCESS

Since 1983, Film Connection has seen thousands of its students go on to lucrative careers in the film industry. Every week we receive letters and testimonials from our students and graduates, letting us know about their progress. We consider this the greatest measure of our success, and we invite you to read their stories HERE.

Industry Endorsements

The film industry pros know a secret, one which the other film schools won’t tell you. Ask virtually any working professional in the film business, and they will tell you two things:

  • Their degree (if they have one) did not get them a job in the film business; their connections and experience did.
  • The best way to learn filmmaking is not in a college or trade school classroom, but in the real workplace, studying one-on-one under a mentor.

These two truths are EXACTLY why the Film Connection has received glowing endorsements from some of the biggest names in the industry. They recognize our revolutionary program as one that actually makes sense to them, because we combine the best elements of traditional education with the opportunity to make real-world connections and gain valuable hands-on experience. In short—the pros endorse our program because it WORKS. Click here to read what these professionals have to say about us.

WHAT’S THIS GOING TO COST, AND HOW WILL I PAY FOR IT?

Film Connection’s Learn in L.A. Film Program costs far less than you might think—certainly less than most, if not all, of our competitors. Additionally, as a fully accredited film school, we are able to offer several in-house financing options, as well as financial aid options.

Best of all, Film Connection does not charge any up-front application fees or hidden charges. All books, equipment and fees are included. The tuition price we quote you is the price you pay—period. And you won’t pay a cent until you have been accepted into the program and determine that our Learn in L.A. Film Program is right for you.
